I screwed up my last post on this, sorry. Anyway Liefeld basically compared Fabian Nicienza to a janitor in the NYTimes. Liefeld is scum.

Exactly, I thought it was known that Rob Leifeld ripped it off from Deathstroke? And they’re even named Wilson.

But Deathstroke is SLADE Wilson. Deadpool is WADE Wilson. Clearly different.

Considering the “origin” of Deadpool involves Nicieza looking at Liefeld’s Deadpool sketch and saying “This is Deathstroke.”, yeah, it’s really surprising he’s not mentioned at all.

TL;DR: Rob Liefeld created scribbled a Wolverine/Deathstroke rip-off on a napkin in the early 90s, and everything you know about the character, everything that made him big, was filled in by others. That is to say, obnoxious Reddit humor.

Seriously? An entire piece on Deadpool and not one mention of Deathstroke? That’s like an entire article on the Squadron Supreme or Imperial Guard and no mention or the Justice League or Legion of Superheroes. While I’ve no doubt Liefeld thinks he pulled this character out of the ether, that’s no reason for you to act…

I received many of these kinds of cards as a teen in Denver in the late 90s/early 00s. I always thought they were clever, creepy and funny at the same time, and never failed to make my face turn red.
