I’ve heard that they usually use replacement bodywork and engines while racing and only put the original stuff back on afterwards. Not sure if that applies to everything though, I know some of the more modern (comparatively) 80s vintage racers often have little to none of their original bodywork left.

The thing I admire the most about this is that many of those cars are probably worth quite a lot of money, but rather than keep them in a museum on a “look but don’t touch” pedestal, or drive slowly a genteel parade, they take them out and race them hard and many of them get damaged.

Morgan Fairchild, Morgan Brittany, Alex Morgan, Morgan Freeman...that would be an interesting race. 

I’d like to see an all-Morgan cup race.

Group A rules meant aero could be no wider, taller, or longer than a box defined by the end points of the body panels. Ford maxed out the rules based on earlier concepts use on the Sierra touring cars.
