If the AAF needed to be bailed out within two weeks of its first games, why would Vanech want anything to do with it, let alone pay to fight for an equity stake that will erode in value and/or continue to be diluted as more investors are needed?

I grew up just south of this area, in Ohio’s 8th district, and it strikes me as all too familiar. A hugely white, rural population that seemingly votes against its own interest time and time again. This is an area deathly afraid of an “other” that it never actually sees, let alone engages with.

True story - what’s even sadder for that beer vendor is that his job doesn’t even provide enough to allow him to go back to his home in Kansas to visit his father. His dad had to use some of his retirement savings to travel to Landover just to be able to see his boy.
