I felt the same when Robin Williams died. I go down into some pretty dark holes sometimes, and each time it seems to get a little darker. The thought that even someone as successful and universally beloved as Williams or Bourdain could go down into a hole so dark he’d rather die than spend another minute in it scares…

That’s one reason this death is hitting me really hard. It scares the shit out of me. I too have suffered from depression for years and have gone through bouts of suicidal thoughts, and thus far have been able to control it.

Anthony Bourdain made me appreciate street food whenever I travel overseas.

You didn’t attend her funeral? So as you say this was a women who you knew since you were toddlers. I assume that means you were pretty good friends. Instead of being there for those two children when they probably need people the most you got on your high horse and road away.
