Fuck em.

I don’t believe he ever really left captivity. He spent his life attempting to and promoting and waging war on other countries. That became his most important task - never ending warmongering, to get back at those who captured and tortured him for all those years.

The whole history of that is so vile that he deserves no credit at all. She suffered a car accident on Christmas Eve, left for dead in the snow for hours after, required 23 reconstructive surgeries, lost four inches of height, had her medical bills paid by Ross Perot, raised three children, and ruthlessly kept it

I think it worked, in large part, because Kerry was way too deferential. I mean, it was a couple decades ago, but I keenly remember just wishing Kerry would just say, “dude, fuck you. I actually fought, I watched my friends die. You didn’t do shit.” Not those exact words but you get the idea. Not only was Kerry a

Family values are for the rest of us, especially us Negroes who need to controlled and place into easily defined categories. It’s not so much for them; they can do whatever and whomever they want.

Rove made it a point to attack McCain and Kerry's service. I think to neutralize Bush's...well not particularly strong service. I can't believe it worked, too.

...he also chose not to pander to his racist base when some questioned Obama’s allegiance to America.

Man, I forgot about how awful some of the Rove devised attacks on his military service was until you just reminded me. There were the same Trumpian implications of, “well, he got caught so how good of a soldier was he?” awfulness. Now that I think about that I’m surprised he even wants Bush to speak at his funeral.

The Maverick thing started around 1999 when he was running in the primary against Bush. I’d also be willing to bet that Trump’s disdain for McCain’s military service comes from the Karl Rove tactic of attacking McCain’s service during the primary.

I remember him as the absolute face - of the Iraq war.

Just so we can get an accurate picture: He was a foil for 45 (after fucking with Obama unnecessarily for 8 years) but voted for his agenda - including the tax boondoggle - 83% of the time. If I have issues with 53% of white women voting for 45, I can certainly take issue with a senator voting 83% of the time to

I second this notion.

Yeah....another shady thing is the whole “cheated on his first wife and threw her over for an heiress half his age.” Ya know....so many folks in this country keep going on about family values and sanctity of marriage, but in the end, no one really cares.

For her alone, he's going to hell.

While I’m firmly in camp of “fuck dat dude” I have to respect.... nothing. Fuck that dude.

The words being used are flawed and principled. I believe this is a description that can be used on most people. He was not a maverick unless it suited him. He was self serving. He was a politician and acted as such. He displayed such an image of him being a principled man that maybe it rubbed off on him somewhat? He

Yeesh, as if having Ultra-white Religious Fanatic Guy attending the funeral subbing for undoubted criminal Orange Dumbass is much of an improvement.

He wants dad to speak?

I propose for every great thing people are going to mention about McCain’s life, they should also mention a shady thing as well.
