Good lord, I’m now enough of an NPR nerd that I recognized those faces from radio. I must signify this with a tote.

Bonus points for obscure ones. Anyone can do Eat It or Foil. If you pull out deep cuts like Want a New Duck we can definitely be friends.
I’m a big fan of “Joe Pera Reads the Church Announcements,” which has a punch line so obvious that you never see it coming.
This show is one of the gosh-darn nicest, and driest, things on the air. I’m so glad it is coming back.
I’ve always thought that in-universe Ruth was not a very good actress by Hollywood standards but her style was perfect for GLOW. Every time we’ve seen her act outside wrestling it’s been flat or, if not flat, just a little bit off for the role.
I posted to the wrong episode, and I can’t delet. I’m having issues with posting lately but honestly it’s my own fault. Thank you for reading.
My favorite little thing about this episode is how Debbie was already out of character before she was off stage in her segment between Marley and Christmas Past. And I posted to the wrong episode...
You gotta buy gas, you don’t gotta buy a chicken sandwich.
Ok, we’ve broken up but let’s go through the motions for 4 months so our PR teams can get everything in place. Oh, Hollywood...
I could not stop thinking about that the whole time. “She’s 35, so she can play wives and grandmothers” feels like what they were writing Debbie in response to and here they cast her with a 50 year old.
For a show that has made a lot of great choices depicting, casting, and writing for a diverse group of women to fall…
I liked this “digression” as well, but I agree about the timing of it. I don’t know what full arc of the season is yet but it feels like a story that should either come in the final episode or far earlier. Outside of the romance with Ruth (uuuuugh) he really hasn’t been a major part of the season. It feels rushed.…
Ruth and Sam have chemistry. They just don’t have THAT chemistry. They are kind of like the ones in the friend group who fall for each other simply due to proximity.
(Ok, idk why Kinja posted my other reply down here too, and I can’t replace it, or delete is, so... come ON Kinja. Do you have anybody who works on UI?)
GLOW is such a kind show, and this is the kindest of all it’s episodes.
I don’t think there is any show on TV that portrays friendship between women as well as GLOW.
You are absolutely right. The show had no future outside Vegas, and, although he was dickish in his delivery, every single actor was free to go back to LA.
Exception: .99¢ Cents Fresh Pizza (cash only) about a block from Grand Central. I found it by following the cabbies at 2am - there were 5 of them parked out front. The window is loaded with boxes and the whole place just big enough to hold one person at a time while two guys pump out large, crisp, thin crust NY slices…
You really think that, with this current Labor Department, there will be any consequences here?
As a viewer I feel protective of Sheila and have been worried about what will happen to her when she looses GLOW at the end of it’s run (be it here in Vegas or whatever narrative extension they pull out if there is a season 4 it will end one day). She has her GLOW pack, and friends, but this is the first time in a…
A lot of actors don’t watch their own films. If they show up at the premier they stay in the green room if they are required to be there after the screening, or walk to a waiting car at the back of the theater and go change for the afterparty. Or go home to be with the kids.
