I believe it was Gene Siskel who said “is this movie more interesting than a documentary of the same actors eating lunch.” I don’t think anything could possibly be more interesting, so I’m glad the actor included just a scene of those to aiming their charisma straight at each other in a diner.  I don’t know if there

Genuinely fantastic and underrated film. You know that SNL ad parody “Wells for Boys?” It’s like they made a movie for those boys that just happens to appeal to everyone else.

Well, not Chevy Chase level but kinda, yea. Most people who have worked with him in films say he’s a genius, but other than that have nothing nice to say and found him nearly impossible to put up with.

But that bullet point will be on an infinite scroll of the section “People who hate Chevy Chase.

Not many people are as talented as Chase. Let’s face it, he got work despite being a sack of douche because he can be really funny. People like him and fellow douche container Mike Meyers eventually run out of goodwill and get relegated to movies like Cops & Robbersons and having to show up in heavy makeup on The Gong

Well I’ve only seen the first episode, so there is no MPDG yet.  I’m prob going to watch an episode every few days so maybe it will get there.

Does this feel very Terry Gilliam to anybody else? I’m not seeing his name mentioned a lot in reviews of this but I feel him everywhere. The “mystery” and way things evolve give the vibe of a grungy Terry Gilliam dystopia-fantasy, with hints of 12 Monkeys, Brazil, The Fisher King, and Zero Theorem. For a director with

The fact that they trotted out the Killer Bees, Samurai ____, Coneheads, and Greek Diner over and over just goes to show that even back then they would air a sketch until it was dead. They worked once, or twice. Then they just kept coming.

Come on guys, the title is clearly on the laptop. Computer... enhance.
Enhance!
I said enhance!

Doctor Grumpy really grew on me. He’s my favorite actor to have the role but not my favorite variation on The Doctor - although his third season was excellent.

No! Now that I know they have a 7 year arc I’m going to be so disappointed with ether:

Did... did Michael have a ponytail when he saved Tahani? Oh I do so love this show.

Nope! Thats writer Brian Stack as Frankenstein. The fact that this barely even qualifies as a joke is my favorite thing about the sketch. If you time it from the time the title of the sketch appears to the time he reaches the item he’s showing us it’s exactly 1 minute.

What’s wrong with saying ‘bee’s knees? It show’s your on the trolley and everything’s Jake! Your no palooka - a rube just feigning hipness. Your puttin’ on the Ritz, daddy o so watch out. When you ankle into their rub they’ll know your on the level!

It’s a still hit because middle age white guys like me love it, and middle aged white guys rule the world. It was a hit when we were young so it will never die. Our forefathers made Stairway to Heaven ubiquitous, we made Hotel California inescapable, and we made this.

Let’s hear it for us! The middle aged white guys!

I laughed so hard at the “thump” as animals fall when Tesh plays the piano I scared my cat.

Yes. He held a contest for his local Houston advertisers and appeared in one of their ads. Hilton, the Chainsaw Guy!

I’ll always be partial to Frankenstein Wastes a Minute of Our Time.

Damnit David Gordon Green! I consider you one of our great directors but you are so maddeningly uneven - especially in your film work since Joe. I know some people may shout this down, but take a step back from Danny McBride for a little bit. You’ve done good work with him, but I think you some time off.

If no great performances turn up I’d be ok with him winning the Oscar he should have won for many other films All is Lost for this. Only, though, because the Oscars have established a precedent for giving corrective acting awards in recent years. Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacio, Gary Oldman, and his pal Paul Newman all
