Plastic intake manifold on 1996-2001 Ford Panther platform cars. What a poor decision for cars otherwise designed to last millennia. It’s on my mind right now as I’ll be replacing mine this week. (As well as replacing all the assorted parts that you should while the manifold is off.) Sigh.

Step 1/2, make sure you are using the correct key and that the resistor or sensor in the key is not missing. I have two identical keys, but one had lost it’s resistor without my knowledge. Frustrating to diagnose; I almost bought a fuel pump.
