Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook

I got the C720 for $150 and absolutely love the inexhaustible battery life. I do wish the keyboard had more feedback but the touchpad is the best I've ever used. Not even my $1000 Lenovo gaming laptop has a touchpad remotely close to this. I now catch myself trying to two-finger to right click on my other laptops.

I think Chromebooks were excluded here b/c the Ultrabook designation was specifically established by Intel for their thin-and-light Windows laptops in the Macbook Air form factor. The MBA gets a nod here b/c at least you can Boot Camp Windows.

As an old-school ThinkPad fan (X40, T60), I'd give my vote to anything else here EXCEPT the X1 Carbon. The new X1 redesign came with a massively revamped keyboard layout that makes no sense for hardcore productivity. The ENTIRE F1-12 key row has been replaced with a TOUCH-SENSITIVE STRIP. And the Caps Lock is now a

If she has a legit allergy I can totally understand including oyster sauce and dried scallops as those two are common enough in so much of Chinese cuisine that they'd be hidden in most dishes she might order at a restaurant. They'd never be featured upfront in a name or description like Beef & Broccoli, but could

Dried scallops are a very common ingredient in fancy Chinese cooking. It's most commonly used n a rich meat stock stock made of pork ribs, chicken, and duck. Drying the scallop concentrates the flavor, making it more savory than a fresh scallop. Think of it as a natural MSG bomb.

Came here to post this, too. The mocking laughter is priceless.

I wonder if that was a savvy decision by the Friends producers/showrunners in realizing that while the 18-49 male demographic is sold on attractive actresses, their female counterparts—as Tina also points out in Bossypants— "are more drawn to character-based jokes and verbal idiosyncrasies." And that's why we have

Oh, God, you just know that's going to lead to a half-assed reboot of Magnum, P.I. that'll half a season on NBC like Knight Rider.

"For years the networks have tried to re-create the success of Friends by making pilot after pilot about beautiful twenty-somethings living together in New York. Beautiful twenty-somethings living in Los Angeles. Beautiful twenty-somethings investigating sexy child murders in Miami. This template never works, because

My God, what I wouldn't give to play an MMO set in Beleriand during the Silmarillion. You'd be able to experience the height of Elven civilization in Middle-Earth, trying to recover the Silmarils from Morgoth. It's a dense book and I had to take a running start at it to be able to get into it at all, but once I'd

IBM made the Clit Mouse 20 years ago.

Short haircuts are cute! Still the best thesis of any Apple TV ad.

It's also exactly 38% distilled vinegar plus 38% distilled white sugar. It's basically the fast food equivalent of biting into a live facehugger.

The simpler dishes, especially the kung pao chicken and veggie chow mein, can be very nice provided it's [1] freshly made and [2] made by a well trained cook, which is rare in a low-wage-paying mega-chain serving out of steam tables. The broccoli beef used to be nice until cost cutting changed the cut of beef from

The commonplace mall food court "Chinese" places almost all serve a "teriyaki chicken" that's just thigh meat strips done up with a teriyaki sauce. It is the same thing as "bourbon chicken" served a few stalls over and the "teriyaki chicken" at the "Japanese" stall. At the big food courts in the malls down south,
