I think the niche approach is working for Mazda. They have carved out the 90's Volvo/Saab niche of nicer-than-mainstream vehicles. This is what Buick and Mercury failed to do so many times. Mazda has no Luxury division to offend. This is how they will succeed where VW keeps getting less-than stellar “Americanized” to

I guess we are denied up here in Vermont. Only KFC’s , so nothing to go postal over.

My first new car was a 87' Dodge Shadow ES. I thought that 2.2 Turbo and Goodyear Gatorback tires made it a fun hot hatch. Then I drove it agaist a friend’s 85' GTI on a twisty Vermont back road. We swapped cars later and I came to understand the huge importance handling has over raw power. That MK2 GTI totally

I replaced my MK7 with a MK8, and this interface for the climate control is the part I don’t like. It serves no ergonomic improvement. It’s laggy, and even turning on your heated seats is a process of pushing a heated seat display to get to the button to perform the actual function!

I don’t understand having a royal family after WW1, I truly can’t. That being said, Britain still clings to this flawed institution and the older generation balks at anything that messes with it.

Nice car, but, I’ll stick with the MK8 GTI. Toyota and Honda are doing their fans no favors by building their hottest hatchbacks in tiny quantities. These will be collected, not driven. At least VW is building the Golf R in respectable quantities (parts shortages limited).

Maybe it’s living in Vermont, but, I’ve had reasonable purchase experiences recently. We tend to have small doc fees and ADM is pretty rare.

When I was 10, my parents had a brown “73 Colony Park wagon. It had a 460. No third seat though. Good times! Many trips to the A&W with that bad boy.

I like to use Boston as a good example of infrastructure investment improving our lives. Admittedly the Boston big dig ran way over budget, but, the impact that important Infrastructure spending had on Boston was massive. Infrastructure dollars turn more times in our economy than any other public spending. China’s

I always liked the 90's SuperBowl GTI ad.

Never thought I would ever say this: I’ll take the Cadillac, it’s much better looking than the BMW and more tasteful.

Patrick Le Quement was an interesting designer to be sure. Sorry, I just don’t see the genius here. Big Citroens like the C6 are my preference. This Renault is not a pretty car from any angle. If I want minivan room, I’ll buy a minivan. They do it better , and for less money.

The happy childless couple revels in their spoils with full appreciation that their crime successes will be rewarded in a future Chrysler Imperial.

On my 2006 Accord I use Kirkland sythetic. You can get it  for $32.99 for 10 quarts! Thats enough for 2 changes.

Amana-white AMC’s, the choice car for when the mushrooms kick-in!

Good tech is good tech, but Electro-capacitive switches belong in the same dumpster as in-dash record players!

Im 58 Years old and my 2017 Mk 7 GTI is the best car I have ever owned. I also have a 2006 Honda Accord that is wonderfully reliable, if a little bland. That being said, I enjoy my 94' 325i for its great handling and older non-tech responses. But, I still love the advancement in handling and power that the newer VW
