@Mark Anthony Hall: For better or worse, this is possible BECAUSE android is open.

@Mactopia: No. The ruling was that it isn't illegal to root/jailbreak/mod your device. The ruling said nothing about manufacturers keeping their devices locked.

@Mactopia: Too bad it is HTC that implemented the feature.

@mer7: or it could be a typo? I dunno....

@SEDAGIVE?!: Am I wrong, or did Google say that 2.2 wasn't optimized for tablets, but that the Galaxy Tab's version of 2.2 (because of TouchWiz) would be suitable for tablets?

@TalKeaton: Every Puzzle Has an Answer!: I'm not seeing the change yet....What happens if you want to search for pens? What comes up as you type "p-e-n..." is google going to be NSFW now?

There is a great app in the android store called swiftkey. It predicts the next word you will type in a text message. I wonder if google threw this in the labs to test before it goes to a tablet or phone?

@matt buchanan: that is really weird and sets a shady precedent. If you search for apps made by google inc, does it bring up the google search widget?

@FriarNurgle: Not sniping, but what are you looking for, aesthetically speaking?

@junior ghoul: A "privatized" internet did exist before google: sites like prodigy and AOL....
