Yeah, it just feels that there is a lack of independence for her heart and for love, which feels, odd. The idea of passing conservatorship from father to husband is severely troubling, especially when that person will have done nothing to have earned any of the money he is now in charge of.

Disinterested parties can be just as bad, though. I’ve seen some absolutely horrifying cases of unscrupulous law firms getting conservatorships put in place over elderly people they have no relationship with, basically usurping their lives and assets away from their family.

I don’t think it’s nearly that simple. I think she, like a lot of creative and celebrated people, have a complicated relationship with their artistry and their fame. They push it away but want it desperately.

Not to mention that there are kids involved here. She seems to be doing much better now and she seems present in her sons’ lives. I feel like this might be in everyone’s interest.

See, I think that’s exactly what it is. I don’t think there’s some grand conspiracy here on the part of everyone taking care of her to maintain the conservatorship just to make money. Just trying to ensure that a person with a mental illness be compliant with their medication can be a huge pain in the ass, not to

I think it’s better. The court sees everything he spends, so it’s not like he’s stealing. The amount being paid to him is less than what would be paid for an accountant and money manager individually. And he’s less likely to try and manipulate her in other ways just so she can get money for a Coolata.

It mentions that her boyfriend had shared the responsibility at some point so I would imagine they would shift to accommodate if she wanted to marry. The idea of passing conservatorship from father to husband does give me the heebie jeebies.

Her teeth are so...white.

There are likely a ton of factors going on that contribute to keeping the conservatorship going. The Times article was interesting but kind of gross in its speculation on something so personal that we know so little about beyond the mechanics. If Britney hasn’t pursued having it overturned, there is no reason to think

So Britney has no problem with this that we know of, and her life seems to be going pretty well. Cool story.

You figured it out. Britney Spears is a boa constrictor.

Consider my star to be THREE stars.

First of all there is no golden path for mothers at work. It’s not a rose garden.

I dunno, I *get* the outrage. This whole “meternity” thing shows that most people think maternity leave is a perk or a vacation and not a necessary time to heal after EXPELLING A HUMAN BEING FROM YOUR BODY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER! I mean, the fact that maternity leave still isn’t mandatorily(ok i made that word up) paid

My ovaries shrivel up every time I visit my friends with kids. I don’t understand how having a messy house, no personal time, and someone screaming at any point in the day is “joy”.

I don’t know, I’m kind of over Solange and her deciding what’s cool.

It’s Taylor, she always has this moments where she has to explain why this and why that cuz she’s the smartest, most brightest artiste to ever roam Earth.

I’m thinking Solange is talking about the Smith children. They are definitively trying to be ‘artsy and shit’ and I can see them being bratty because they grew up in a bubble.

She’s honestly trying so hard to be come a pop diva like beyonce, lady gaga, etc. but she’s more like that girl who loved ponies in high school in didn’t understand why no one else had there own pony and ranches.

I don’t really think that black (or is it a dark purple?) lipstick is doing her many favors, either. Perhaps it’s the pairing of both the platinum hair AND the lipstick that is throwing me. The following isn’t truly relevant, but I always feel obligated to leave Simpsons references the rare times I comment here. So,
