My cat wants anything that has salt or dairy. One time I gave her a little pinch of banana. Because I was eating it, she knew it was food. But she would lick it off the floor, spit it out, stare at it, then repeat. She could not understand how it was food.

That's funny, because I had a Siamese that loved angel food cake. The last one I left out he chewed thorough the hard plastic container and literally ate the top two inches off the entire cake. It was the only food he ever wanted besides cat food. Of course he also had OCD, and was a very odd cat.
