They under utilized Octavia Spencer in this episode. It felt like a bunch of sketches they had lying around and not written explicitly written for her. However, the chess sketch was pretty funny and so was Kate's runner.

Death-Bannon is the best. I hope they stick with it. And the line "I never had one" made me spit coffee.
Agreed. It had a lot going for it but it just like didn't hit the mark — you know?
Same cyberpumpkin, same.
Just saw the pilot and it's rare to have laugh out loud moments in them — this one had many. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
I LOVED the subject-matter, characters and actors — the script was bad. It was shot like a lifetime movie with no thought to how the images would tell the story. Good god, the visual effects - no - just use stock footage. But again, LOVED the subject-matter, characters and actors. Edit - oh and the theme song — loved…
I know I saw F and thought — must watch.
The lights were really on in the film.
Ahem — Orphan Black doesn't use (that much) greenscreen — it's a technically camera play and then they mask out/in from there. Also… isn't all television a version of fan fiction? The writers are fans and want to interact with them.
Ya'll late. This was news around 1PM now it's stardust.
