Having lived in VT (Canada broadcasts) and Italy during various Olympic years, it’s definitely not the journey but the competition that gets this lady’s parts all hot. Only in the US do we have to listen to the drivel of NBC comentators. Total buzzkill.

Ugh, my woman brain isn’t interested in very many Olympic sports, but the ones it might watch (mostly swimming) will lose about 95% of their appeal if I already know who won. And I HATE that 85% of coverage has always been wading through life stories to get to the three seconds of edited action they deign to show.

I think it’s worth noting that for doing something somewhat similar to Kim Kardashian, she was killed. It helps highlight the awfulness of the culture that hated her.

Why do you think the GOP got in bed with the religious right years ago (and possibly signed their own death warrant - I live in hope)? Control. They MUST control what they do not understand and they fear what they do not understand - and women (and everyone not white male conservative) will always be a mystery to them.
