I thought he was a good character, they just really had nowhere to put him.
He had nothing to do, or any way to contribute to the plot, but I chalk that up to bad writing rather than being a useless character.

Season 3 was pretty bad and Season 5 was even worse, but I thought season 4 was the best to date.

I kept watching because someone said it gets better, and boy were they wrong.

It was a terrible plot device.
This whole season has been full of them.
It's obvious they changed writers between season 4 and 5, and the new ones have no idea what they're doing.

There were so many moments where I was thinking, this has GOT to be a dream sequence.
Turns out they somehow managed to follow up the best season of this show with a train wreck.
