Lightwieght, smallblock V-8's with cylinder deactivation, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing are the way to go!

Try the new ones, in my '14 Silverado I'm almost always in 4-Cyl mode, unless im passing or accelerating from a light. More than enough power for slight to moderate hills.

I agree, its always eco OR boost. Unfortunately, you need a lot of boost to get the 2.7L of displacement to move the 4,500 lbs.

I have had my '14 Silverado for 5 months now with 6,400 miles or so. Most of the miles are commuting in West Bloomfield and Southfield MI with the daily rush hour traffic and some more open stretches. Call it 60 City/40 Highway.
