I would like for people, esp. other people of color, to stop acting as if black people are in this privileged position where everybody takes our concerns more seriously than they take the concerns of other marginalized groups.

Let’s all take a moment to remember Kylie’s old lips and Kim’s old face.

“Everybody wants to be a nigga but don’t nobody wanna be a nigga.”

If that is a still from the movie, and not a picture of an unglazed terra cotta statue, this movie is going to be impossible to watch.

Everytime I see a still from this movie I am blown away by how bad the makeup is. Like... it’s a bad idea to begin with, but the execution is terrible! She looks like a wax figure in a too-hot room.

Take $3.3 million per each slave sold in the original deal, and distribute that amount equally among all known descendants.

I was in my early teens during the testimonies, remember watching and being firmly on the side of Anita Hill. What I didn’t understand or appreciate at the time was the sheer bravery she must have had to face all of those horrible people and be treated with such condescension. I’m glad the movie doesn’t try to tell

Queer POC and straight black women have been saying it for decades and I hope it never ends.

Can we get an entertaining movie with a mostly-black cast that aren’t playing slaves, or worse, directed by Tyler Perry? Pleeeease?

Along with Kara’s astute criticism above, there is also this: Zoe Saldana can’t act. I’m sure I’ll be taken to task by the teeming hordes of Zoe Saldana fans out there, but I think that there is enough objective evidence to support my opinion.

Except that the takeaway from that is that a young person was so warped in her perception of race and people that in order for her to “understand” racial “equality,” she had to assign the value of whiteness to everyone. Those folks were racist as hell, best of intentions notwithstanding. Bigotry is often cloaked in

I listened to her interview on The Read podcast and it intrigued me. I'll watch, only because it really seems like she's not in this project to take advantage of these girls for ratings. She genuinely wants to create the next Destiny's Child (not her words, my interpretation) and she wants to nurture them and care for

For real. Get yourself a Meek Mill.

She said Ashy Larry. I flatlined.

YES, WE DO NEED THREE, THANKYOUVERYMUCH.

Former Zara employee here, three years removed thank god. Part of their business model is to have as few employees as possible on the sales floor. So the store will always look like shit and the employees do not have the fucks to give good customer service.

I see white girls with braids working at Zara every damn time I go to one. I’ll bet my ass there isn’t a “no braids” policy.

Ive watched this video...wait, no I don’t want to say how many times because that would be embarrassing.
