No one is equating anything with anything. The only parallel he is drawing between buying a flashy car in a dodgy neighborhood and getting really wasted at a bar w/out friends to look after you is that both are behaviors that increase your risk of becoming the victim of a crime. It’s kind of hard to argue with that.
