It baffles me that someone, MULTIPLE PEOPLE, get paid for these brilliant ideas. Not once in the process does any objection stop these ideas from moving forward into a full production.

Sometimes when I see ridiculous commercials, I try to imagine what that pitch meeting must have been like, and I feel like the phrase “protest is the new brunch” was uttered in this one.

Some commenters always come off as a little sour, I usually charitably* put it down to something being lost in translation over the pond - perhaps the way we phrase things reads differently to its intention ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But I think you’re spot on about UK politics (even though I still hate the Tories!)

Tony Benn is my favorite British politician! I was extremely sad when he passed away a few years ago.

Misandry! I really don’t understand how they can justify this before every man in Britain has his own statue!

Actually no. Most have embraced the new heroes...

I’ll be first in line to read it. Not being able to enjoy ethnic heroes or going online and seeing swastikas juxtaposed next to Americana is bullshit, and deserving of an explanation. Why do we still have to have this fucking discussion on something as insignificant as minorities being able to sling webs, quips, and

Another suffragette has a superb plaque within Parliament, itself secretly (and illegally) placed there by the wonderful late MP Tony Benn.

I’m a horrible mainstream comics fan because I want my favorite comics to get cancelled after a year or so, so that they have a better chance of staying self-contained and have a solid story arc.

That’s what gives me hope, that there are kids like yours out there. I know I was having a lot of those talks with Kidlet as well, and I received some major stinkeye from one of the counter guys at a comic book shop when he overheard us discussing the poses that various statuettes were in, how the male characters

Well some comic characters are plenty misogynistic at least...if not tubby and pale.

Miles and Gwen have been far more interesting than old Petey to me at least, think he needs a break for a while. I’ve had a few folks talk about how good Logan was but I don’t know I have it in me to sit through another oppressively dark and gritty super hero flick. I want a Squirrel Girl movie!

The funny thing is that little white boys — like my son — are psyched to see such diversity.

That’s exactly how I feel and I’ve been hearing it from other people too. I’m also feeling like this... You read a story and then there is a branching story and then a crossover and then a prequel and then.... on and on and on. I’m tired of it. I don’t want to buy 10 other books to keep track of all the various

“white geekboys are throwing temper tantrums that their preferred media doesn’t reflect them?”

It feels horrible to them. You can’t swing a bottle of Mountain Dew without hitting an oppressed white guy. Plus, this homoerotic love of seeing nothing but “strong” white guys is odd.

Honestly I don’t even think that’s it. They’re just the loudest assholes on the internet, I think more people are just burnt out. My husband is comic book loving geek and we are both pretty much over Marvel movies at this point. I couldn’t give a shit about another Spider-Man movie, The Avengers have been over

Even though they don’t seem to grasp how far away their pot-bellied, inconsiderate, misogynist selves are from the heroes they want to pretend they are.

RAGE when they say “What? You won’t like anything with a protagonist that doesn’t look like you? That sounds like your problem! Lawl!” Because they always throw the biggest bitch fit when the protagonist is not a gruff white dude.

Soooo... basically white geekboys are throwing temper tantrums that their preferred media doesn’t reflect them? Huh. Wonder how THAT feels...
