I was awesome at work this week with statistics to back it up and recognized for my efforts. So, on the one hand, yay for that, and on the other hand, I think this means we all have to prepare for the apocalypse.

Our pediatrician had a good tip: take a picture of the sheet with your phone for traveling.

My child was talking about lockdown drills in grade school and wanted to know what I remembered about them from my childhood.  I explained that we only had fire and tornado drills. She was horrified because, “it doesn’t mean it will happen but you have to be prepared,” and I couldn’t find a way to explain that back in…

I had cramping pain early in pregnancy along with some spotting. My child was born a month and a half early for unrelated reasons. She’s now a perfectly normal grade schooler. Hoping all goes well tomorrow and you have a similar story (minus the spotting, of corse).

Their description of modesty made it sound a little bit like magic powers.

I am a white woman, middle to upper Gen-Xer and the deliberate blindness of some of my peers to their racism and classism is truly unsettling.
