81 million isn’t a “shoestring budget”. That’s twice the budget of Mass Effect 3 (Andromeda’s budget hasn’t been released yet, but it’s probably in the same ballpark). Throw in the fact that salaries in Poland are substantially cheaper than Canada and the effective difference become ever lager.

Also, not sure where you

Speaking from my own experience when it came out, Little Brother is an amazing book for a 17 year old to read in tough political times.

It might be feasible if you think of it not in terms of “two hours a day to devout to walking” but “two hours a day of combining other activities with walking” (walk while talking about your day with your SO, walk on a treadmill while watching TV, etc.).

Still, pretending it’s not a massive lifestyle change that’s

Calling two hours of walking a day “a little effort” seems like a stretch. That’s dramatically more time than I spend on anything that’s not sleep or work.

Raw number of years the project was in development is meaningless. What matters is number of man-hours on the project, divided by the amount of content required.

A tax on food would punish the poor horrifically, as the poorer you are, the larger percentage of your income you spend on food.

Stop-motion is a type of animation...

Ubisoft has posted job listings for work on the Division at their New York studio, so presumably some or all of ongoing work on The Division is being moved away from Massive.

They are all training with the same trainer, though presumably they don’t do exactly the same routine.

Statistically, a woman her age is substantially more likely than not to live another four years.

Battle for Middle Earth and its sequel was excellent.

I doubt Weta actually has that much cash sitting around. VFX is notoriously low-margin.

The thing is, the soccer equivalent of a movie sword fight would be the hero picking up the ball, carrying it to the net, punching the goalie in the face, and declaring he scored a hole in one and won the Superbowl.

The problem isn’t the heroes being too skilled, its the heroes being wildly successful despite

For longsword, we have surviving illustrated manuals teaching how to fight. Now, there’s still some speculation involved in translating that to an actual fight, but at least in terms of the broad strokes we can say with a pretty high degree of confidence that this is how people fought.

Armored sword fighting styles are built around defeating the armor, and still very much rely on having a sharp blade. You stab, pry, and slash at the exposed parts.

Also, most people in HEMA are studying unarmored fighting styles, which are very different from armored.

The best HEMA fighters aren’t athletes on par with Olympic, or even serious collegiate, sport fencers: the inability to get college scholarships for HEMA is a factor, plus the people with the best technical knowledge of HEMA aren’t young. I definitely wouldn’t call it fetishistic, though, and the average person at a

It takes the right mix of a good narrator and a fairly fast paced book to work for me. There have definitely been audio books I haven’t been able to get into that I’m pretty sure I would have loved on paper (and one I actually bought on paper after two hours of the audiobook).

Yeah, something would have to go seriously wrong, but being able to honestly explain what went wrong increases your chances of getting proper treatment quickly.
