I kind of see what you mean about feeling hopeless. I love this show, but at this point I’m starting to think it’s making the argument that things will never get better for Rebecca.

In the previous episode she mentioned that she was a WASP, and I think the implication was that WASPs are supposed to have long, straight, shiny hair.
I think it was the president of the network who said a year or two ago that they know the show gets awful ratings, but they love it so they were going to renew it. I don’t think there’s any way it doesn’t get renewed - especially because Rachel Bloom has indicated that it’s only a four-season show and it’s very…
Earlier in the season Rebecca was seeing a male Dr. Akopian, and (to me at least) there was a moment of “has Dr. Akopian been a man this whole time?” But then it was revealed to be Dr. Akopian’s husband.
I’m still angry at him for leaving Rebecca with that tab.
I was surprised by how affected I was by the scene where Isaac read “Peter Rabbit” in Finn’s voice. Damn. Really got to me as a parent.
I made the mistake of scheduling a physical on Nov. 9. Spent most of it crying in the exam room. The doctor was very patient and kind.
That heater is gorgeous. Drew Barrymore has very good taste.
Love Difficult People! I’m watching it between Broad City episodes, and it’s similarly fantastic.
Pretty solid episodes. The plot wasn’t anything particularly special, but there were some nice touches - the animation on the darksaber was beautiful as usual, and I liked Sabine’s lament about a planet at perpetual war. And Sabine’s reunion with her father was lovely, especially how within seconds they were talking…
This episode reminded me of Waking Life, but in a good way. I’m glad the animation didn’t last the entire episode - as a non-drug user (mainly because I’m terrified of bad trips or embarrassing myself, so this episode pretty much solidified my choices) it was fun for a bit but fortunately ended just when I was getting…
Yeah. It wasn’t too mean, it was realistic given Abbi’s ridiculous behavior. And the whole scene made me feel bad for the woman, who might have just been starting to feel better about her situation only to realize that the person giving her advice didn’t know what the hell she was talking about. Abbi deserved it!
I wouldn’t be surprised. I said to my husband that there was WAY too much noise and light in that scene for that baby not to be waking up and crying.
The references to modern pop culture could be just plain lazy, but they remind me of how Paris on Voyager was obsessed with 20th century history for SOME reason...
This was the first episode I truly, genuinely enjoyed. Are there problems with this show? Undoubtedly - the humor is just plain bad, and I wish they’d get rid of it. It’s 2017, are people still laughing at someone randomly blurting out “you don’t have to be a dick about it”? Or at least, are people who will laugh at…
I loved her character too. I’m going to miss the whole Soulstice setting in general - imo the whole “assistant to a New York designer/publisher/obnoxious rich person” is pretty well-trod territory, and I wonder how they’re going to make it interesting and not a total cliche. Wanda Sykes did a great job with her scenes…
Man, I wish the behind the scenes hadn’t stated so definitively that this was Trey’s goodbye episode. Trey annoyed me on my first pass through the show, but in a recent rewatch I found him to be kind of endearing. And he’s perfect for Abbi - they’re the same type of nerdy and awkward, but he’s learned to use it to his…
