Shelter Cat Update!

Yum. This reminds that I need to go to our local German butcher. I roasted a chicken. The first of the season and just made a pot of soup from it tonight. So very satisfying.

I had a really yummy Iranian-style frittata with greek yogurt (I use that Just Egg stuff bc I can only eat real eggs when they’re baked in something). Then I’m using it up with some vegetarian ‘egg’ sandwiches from this recipe https://www.bowlofdelicious.com/best-vegetarian-breakfast-sandwich/ that have avocado and

My wife and I start jobs next week after months of being in constant contact. I’ve grown bored with the no knead bread of early pandemic times and am now trying various versions of soda bread such as Farl and basic loaves.

THE BONES

Oh yummy dinner. I can bring a puff pastry rustic strawberry pie over! We had some iffy berries from the market as they are the last of the season and a frozen puff pastry that has been in the freezer for a year lol

Amazing story. It’s so nice to hear something positive right now.

This week I also discovered True Blood. How the fuck did I live this long without seeing it?? It’s so terrible. The dialogue, the plot, everything. But I can’t stop watching!

I’m getting a strong tastes like Aquafresh vibe from it.

Whuddup jezzies. In an unbelievably stressful week (home life, work life, the sustained hellscape of our politics) I had one HUGE bright spot. A few weeks back, I posted about possibly finding the sister that my mom had given up for adoption 8 years before I was born. I found her on ancestry.com.

That’s interesting, but I don’t know if I would want to eat it. The texture of gelatin can be a little... off putting.

Mid 80's. Small, safe, boring suburb of Toronto, Ontario. I’m around 10 and driving in the car with my mom and brother. We just left the mall. I’m in the backseat, looking around. I notice the driver of the car behind us: gaunt, pale face, thin handlebar stache, aviator sunglasses, baseball hat. Creepy but whatever. A

Don’t Test the Ouija Board

I’ve kind of told this story before, but I feel like telling it again with a bit more detail, it’s not scary but it is kind of sweet. About 6 years ago I had my own 2 dogs and 2 foster dogs. One of those foster dogs ended being a “foster fail” and we adopted him as he just wasn’t working out in any of the homes he

The summer before moving away to college my best friend and I decided to take fun day trips around the state to spend time together, as we would be attending different universities. We’d been hiking at different state parks for most of the day and decided to stop at one last place for a quick hike. This park is well

This happened around 2012-2013. For some context, this took place in my new bedroom that my mom had added around 2004-2005 when she had the house renovated. Something always seemed off about that room, so I actually didn’t stay in it for years, preferring to stay in my old bedroom. I went away for college and then

The Boy Who Wasn’t There

My sister and her husband are foster parents to two little girls, and have two biological children of their own. They are hoping to adopt the girls but needed a bigger house for that to be a possibility. They started searching and found a giant house that used to be owned by a group of priests in the area. They housed

I’m a little late, but I wanted to share some stories my dad told me about his experiences with djinn in India. I’m pretty sure every Muslim kid loves a good djinn story and I’m no exception, but hope you all enjoy it too.

Dear folks that are worried their comments will never be seen, I am reading them and I am sure folks like me are reading them too. I truly appreciate all of your stories and they genuinely scare me. Your efforts are not for nothing, YOUR RANDOM STORIES ARE MY FAVOURITE. Thank you! Keep it up. With much love, me. And
