What it really comes down to is how people are interpreting the religion they're following. I've toyed with the idea of becoming a Christian again, honestly. It's just some of the rules and stories that bother me. Plus, I was a Christian until I was 16 years old, and the whole time, it's not like I wanted to get into

We don't need religion to hate each other for stupid reasons.

That really sucks, by the way. Our biggest deal, right now, seems to be politicians refusing to acknowledge science (possibly to pander to a base, it sucks either way).

That's a great point.
There is a tone about that music that's like, "Oh, that's my favorite beer. I like drinking 4-6 of those responsibly at my home while listening to my favorite adult contemporary artist at a moderate level of volume."

Also, in the interest of fairness. There were two other hardcore christians I knew and when they got really drunk, one was really fun and lost his stutter for the night and the other would sit in my lap when she was talking to me…it's not even like we had anything close to a flirtatious relationship either. I enjoyed

When you put it like that, it is a pretty low bar to clear.
Seriously, I've seen a lot of people get far too drunk and do stupid shit, but hardcore christians who have had too much to drink are just the worst. I'll never forget the sermon of the flipped coffee table or the "poo shavings" incident.

That's why it pisses me off so much to see people say, "It's in the Korran, so all Muslims believe this hateful shit."
Dudes, you're Christians and you ignore over half of the things said by your actual messiah.
There's a lot in the bible that I actually consider to be good advice. All of the seven deadly sins are

The Christians who believe in charity and unconditional love don't get much press coverage. Trust me, I know a lot of Christians and the day gay marriage was legalized in all 50, I saw about 70 Christians with positive things to say about it on facebook (and a couple of puds who were bummed out about it, admittedly.)

Hey slugger, you may not believe in Jesus, but let me tell ya something goddamnit, he believes in you!

I owe you a fist bump and a medal for awesomery.

I can't exactly call myself a member, but I do admire certain aspects of the Christian faith. So, I still get a little defensive about it.

"Stop it! Can't you see you're not making Christianity better? You're just making rock and roll worse!"

I have a friend who's grandpa took the long way out. Took one chemo treatment and decided he may be dying, but he ain't living like that. I don't know if the chemo would have saved him or not, but he went out on his own terms.
I kind of admire that.

It is surely an interesting story.

Nate?
…so, BikeKike is your last name?

Shit, arguing on a cell phone while driving has been upgraded to hell worthy sin. It's more the principle than anything.

I'm sure I've heard them, but it's been awhile. I may have to go on youtube and look those two up.
Mike Cooley is my favorite too. Songs like Zip City and Where The Devil Don't Stay, they're simple, but they just really bring the mythology of this particular area to life. I like Patterson too, but it just seems like

Southern Rock Opera, The Dirty South, and Decoration Day is enough for me to love them forever. Everything else is just a bonus.
With English Oceans, it didn't have that immediate snap of appreciation that usually comes with them. I figured I just needed to give it a re-listen.

Both are great choices.
Edit to Add: Sorry, I thought you were talking about Electric Light Orchestra at first.

I think an important part of the redneck name is it's literal description. Red on the back of their neck, because they're working out in the sun all day. I would also allow truck drivers or people like plumbers or carpenters. Any job that requires a special skill set or aptitude, yet you can still do as a high school
