I’m glad this review speaks highly of “emo peter parker.” I thought that was the best part of the film as well as this particular scene. It was campy fun. The stuff with the Sandman (presumably what Raimi cared about most) was awfully dull really.

I’ve been amazed at how terrible comedy has been post Trump.  Kanye’s visit to the white house yesterday was funnier than any movie or TV show i’ve seen in the past year easily.  No one has any idea how to be funny in the current climate, it’s wild.

Why is that unique to tv shows.  Chinatown and Annie Hall were collaborative efforts also, and remain great movies despite the sins of their auteur.
