I liked it so much more before I learned its origin.

Achtung Baby is so much better than this.
I think people (including myself) are overreacting to the Peter Pan -> Chemistry -> Infinite Content x2 portion in the middle of the album. It's absolutely dreadful and by that point the listener has made up their mind that the whole album is a failure. I think it's their worst album, and that portion is awful but…
I would like it more if the cynicism were novel in some way. People have been talking about and nailing home these themes for years.
But the lyrics in a "goth" teen's persona so it works imo. My knee jerk reaction to that song was to cringe but now I think it works quite well. Part of it is that I have children and I wonder what their teen years will be like in the age of social media.
Is it a reference to Freaknasty - Da Dip?
25th Hour though
I don't like it as much as most but it reveals the creators' trolly intentions imo.
I hope this kicks ass.
Sgt Pepper's is there too

When did the public decide they didn't like Anne Hathaway? Was it after she won the academy award? I thought she was dreadful in Interstellar but I blame the script mostly.
I forgot Superman died at the end of that garbage movie.
Yeah I enjoyed that more as well. I do admit I'm not as into the current pop music scene so some jokes went over my head.
Mike D'angelo's review seems to disagree, saying it's fairly experimental for a big budget hollywood film. At least in terms of narrative structure with 3 alternative timelines that converge. Sounds great.
Both could use critical reappraisals.
You were supposed to kind of hate him though. My problem with the film (which I like) is that the ending is just so out of nowhere to give a big climax v. THE ENEMY. It's fairly ludicrous. But up until that sudden plot shift I think it's a pretty solid film.
Yeah that's a major weakness of Nolan's. So many big emotional moments fall flat (Cobb's wife in Inception, Ending of Interstellar, The personal relationships disintegrating in the Prestige, etc).
Saw Popstar and was quite disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were too high but it just felt like a pale Spinal Tap / Zoolander imitation.
