This is my bet for best picture winner. It's a film that's a love letter to old hollywood and the entertainment industry, they will eat it up.

It's sad that being really good at "managing a brand" is what excites us about our celebrities / stars in 2016.

"I don't even own a Taylor Swift" etc.

I saw her in concert a few years ago. It was an impressive display but utterly and totally phony. Now in some ways, that's show business. But in another way, when your core fans are preteens looking for some sort of connection and looking for it with pop stars…it just seems kind of gross.

I didn't realize Keds still existed

There are versions of humans other than alcoholic depressives.

Especially because I guarantee the parents learn a very valuable lesson about kids growing up by the end of the film anyway.

He wouldn't have fought to the death otherwise I think if had just been regular porn.

Isn't it like the Real Housewives? You get to imagine life as an idle rich person?

I assumed it was lifestyle porn

Well he takes these scenery chewing parts all the time.

I would actually say it was bad

Aren't vampires no longer cool?

Complaining about Star Trek is one of the best things about being a fan.

Me too. I'd guess this is a common phenomenon among the listless.

I think TNG has the highest highs, but an average episode of DS9 is better than an average episode of TNG. The thing is DS9 is basically a serial so you have to watch the whole thing but TNG you can ignore the awful episodes.

Old raws from 1999 are pretty amazing to watch now. Highly recommend revisiting for fun.

Tried to rewatch Battlestar Galactica. It doesn't hold up. Too much of the show's momentum is driven by "Is this charecter a cylon????" that it becomes dull when you know how it all plays out.

The Wire is not as good on rewatch. It becomes a lot more obviously didactic and heavy handed, whereas the first time I saw it it seemed an exciting and subversive take on the cop procedural.

A lot of self aware crap gets over praised by film geeks just because it's self aware.
