It's one thing to make a lunch because you want to. It's totally another thing to make one because your vagina obligates you to, despite whatever else you may have going on at the time. That sandwich would be a grudgewich with extra sauce.

It's like that one study that showed that childless women in their 20's with college educations in some areas of the country were outearning men (not necessarily ones that matched that exact demographic, so also including low-wage laborers). Every headline from now on: HE-TASTROPHE : WOMEN TOTALLY OUTEARNING MEN. We

When the SATs first came around, boys tended to outscore girls on the math, while girls outscored boys on verbal. SAT writers assumed there was a flaw in the verbal section and skewed the types of questions and subject to raise boys' scores, while assuming the math section was as it should be.

Yes. And despite the talk of "irrefutable data" above showing that boys are left behind*, men still outearn women no matter what level of education you're dealing with.

Exactly. The disparity between the two groups is shrinking, and that's a huge positive. Unfortunately, many people see the situation as zero-sum, and so when one side succeeds, the other must be doing worse. This is manifestly not the case.

It came out right before Father's Day and I sent it to all the dads I knew. And then they all reported massive freak dust storms in the area.

This passage:

Totally. Why couldn't she just have been like, "I'm selling these tickets because my daughters lied to me and broke the rules. Their loss is your gain!"

Awesome.

I have read the book. I sort of just abandoned all hope that the movie would be about it in any way, and at least in that I was not disappointed.

This one was my favourite

Seriously, I think my hedgehog has a better grasp of geography then most of these people.

Photojournalists take impromptu photos of news events. I'm not sure why the level of tragedy should dictate photojournalists' and publishers' rights.

If you are a teacher using a photo to accompany a classroom lecture, that falls under the Fair Use Doctrine exemption to copyright, for nonprofit educational purposes. I'm surprised that you didn't know that the law protects you. Rather than your rather sloppy application of the 'I really don't give a shit' doctrine

Not allowing rights to photos that are spontaneous and tragic would put a lot of photojournalists out of work.

So you're saying MOAR GIFS?

I wouldn't worry. true blood can almost never keep to a single plot for a whole season. Remember how this season looked like it was going to be about billith ushering in the vampire apocalypse? Then it turns out its a retread of season 2 with death camps and also alcides stupid pack andfairy babies and ben is warlow

Zombie fiction is at its best when it's about people put into a terrifying situation and having to struggle to survive. Human interaction, ne? Sure, you could sometimes have the same story in many other survival scenarios, but there's something uniquely horrible about the omnipresent danger of your loved ones turning

I'm a big believer in the idea that you can use any sort of trope to tell a good story, no matter how played out. The problem with zombies is that some of the storytelling they inspire is lazy. Not here, though.
