Totally. Everyday Dish has a recipe to make Field Roast style sausages at home and I loooove it. So much cheaper and you can add whatever you want. Amazing. I'd be okay feeding them to my dad, if given the chance, and he'd eat it and be like "it's alright" - which is the highest praise possible for him and vegan

And come on, fellow vegans. Enough with the "we're actually herbivores" thing. Humans are omnivores, we're primates. Make the argument from an animal rights/social justice slant since we can do hard numbers there and have well supported arguments, but enooooough with the overstated "natural" claims and the "veganism

And I was raised an omnivore and regret every animal I've ever eaten now. I was indoctrinated to think animals were food before I could make a choice, too. It goes both ways. A lot of kids go through a vegetarian phase when they realized meat is dead animals. A lot of parents don't allow their kids to chose to not eat

Did you do Tofu Pups? Don't. Ever. Eat them. So gross!

I stand corrected on the tomato with fish genes. I was under the misunderstanding that Calgene's Flavr Savr had genes from cold water fish. I guess that was a mistaken bit of info that was reported and then widely accepted as true.

*applause*

No. Nature doesn't. GMO foods involve putting genes where they would not naturally go. A tomato does not and cannot cross breed with a fish, as a for instance. This is beyond simple hybridization (like, say, breeding two types of apples to get Honeycrisp), it is doing something that nature would not do due to how

Word. I was SO excited when I saw it in the store. We call it Crack Zero for a reason.

I've just gotten into ultrarunning (I'm quite new to running in general, started in 2009 from totally sendentary, ran first marathon in 2010, got my entrance into Marathon Maniacs in 2012 and also ran my first two ultras that year - 50K and a 50 miler. I'm coming up on marathon number 10 this Sunday. So, pretty new to

Haha! Sloth-twitch! :D Nice. I was sloth-twitch for most of my life. I started running about 3-4 years ago and could only do like 5 minutes of running before needing a walk.

Marathoners and sprinters have different athletic needs. They use muscles in different ways and work different types of muscle fiber. Endurance athletes use more slow twitch and will rely on fat burning for fuel to a certain extent. Sprinters use more fast twitch and will have less fat burning and more glycogen as

Word. That is why I love Silver brand jeans. They are sized like men's. The style I get are slung a bit low across the hips under the belly button, so it's not *exactly* a waist measurement but it's still pretty standardized. They even have a pretty good range of sizes. I think they go up to like 40/(inseam) sizes?

I get what you're saying, but I don't see how blending fruit/veggies makes them have less fiber/nutrients? You can't pulverize the fiber out of something and fruit has a lot of fiber. JUICING, for sure, you lose fiber and nutrients. 100% with you there! I might just be confused. I'm currently sick and my brain isn't

I love steamed kale! So much.

Yeah, cats (and dogs, and all other mammals) don't tolerate other animal's milk really well. Most species never drink milk again after weaning and none but humans will consume the milk of a totally different species on the regular. So it's always a bit weird to see milk promoted for companion animals.

Yeah, this. I bake my rats treats on occasion (rodents, not rat terriers. Haha.) and the recipes are all really basic without table sugar or lots of extracted oils. The treats are basically oats, peanut butter, wheat germ, molasses (for iron and such!), almond milk and mashed banana. They LOVE them, I think they taste

Haha. Yes. I think my dude is just distractable and forgetful, not actively jerky or entitled. Still makes me mad in the moment but it's harder to stay mad at him. ;)

I feel so dumb because open cabinets make me CRAZY. Also socks on the floor. My SO does both. I fix both and it's NBD. It's other stuff where it is a big deal (animal care, floors being swept, dishes and kitchen handled) that I get pissy. That's mostly just due to feeling taken for granted and put upon rather than an

We need a goddamn support group.

Add to the list the BBC version of Being Human. I just can't with the American version.
