Also, technically, wasn’t Donna Noble part Time Lord by the end of her run as companion? Not the same but, still, it’s frustrating to hear people say this is the first female Time Lord.

And still, we must raise an eyebrow even at that:
Thank You! My inner nerd was instantly enraged.
I don’t like the plans for the next season of Doctor Who, but not because I’ve anything against the idea of a women Doctor but because I don’t think the Doctor should be in it at all.
YES!!!! The very funny Michelle Gomez played Mistress “Missy”. I like to take any opportunity of her mention as a way to post the following
Y’all are my people.
Romana rocked.
Also, never forget the Doctor Donna!
Yes, Nerd!
She only got a mention in The Doctor’s Wife, but The Corsair had at least one female regeneration. I would love, love, love to see her onscreen.
Saga is one of the most compelling comics out there. Also full of incredibly written women, and characters in general. Its made my laugh, cheer, and even cry. Brian K. Vaughan is one of my favorite writers. Paper Girls is another of his that surprises me again and again. He writes girls and women so well.
I adored Missy.
And she came to be my favorite incarnation of the Master. Most people adored her, but she was the villain, so that was ok. But the hero? Cannot have that. I actually saw a broflake refer to the new Doctor as Nurse Who. He thought he was so cutting and clever. It was pathetic.
Why do people forget this? I’ve only watched NuWho but I still know about Romana and the Rani. And Missy is right there, for chrissakes.
Of course many people are sent to prison who need mental help instead. However, as a psych ER intake/assessment counselor, I can tell you that the police bring (mostly teenagers throwing tantrums) for psych assessments APOWW so they don’t have to go book the kids in juvie. 99% of the time, the kids need to just go get…
At shows like this, water should be affordable and not $8-10 a pop. I went to Oktoberfest in Munich. Beer prices are set ahead of time, by a committee at 9.90 Euros. Water, carbonated not flat, was 14 Euros.
Your post clears things up substantially. I thought that sounded like a disturbing number of people to have so intoxicated that they needed to be hospitalized. This country seems to send people who need mental help straight to prison and people who need a phone call home (at worst) to the hospital. Crazy.
Other famous concert night ED quotes:
Or send the truly intoxicated to the hospital, and send the kids who are merely caught drinking a beer while underage home with their parents. The problem is that in CT currently, if you involve EMS, especially with a kid, they have to transport. This can be circumvented by having some kind of protocol in place for…
I used to be an ER nurse at the hospital where most of these kids are transported. This has been going on for years. The day that the summer concert schedules come out, nurses race to put in vacation time for certain shows, OR they race to sign up to work certain shifts. Dave Matthews shows were the most infamous. I…
