The obsession with the Marauders is likely due to the fact they’re constantly brought up yet never really explained or talked about in depth.

Out of any of the characters in the books I think she’d probably have ended up happiest with one of the twins. They both seemed to treat her with respect while giving her the light ribbing she sometimes needed to knock her down a step or too.

My unpopular opinion: I don’t give a shit about the Marauders. If I cared about them at all I would point out that they were bullies (yes Snape deserved it, no that doesn’t make it ok, yes I mean Lupin too), but I truly don’t get the interest in them. Fandom seems very obsessed with them, to the point that I avoid HP

Harry Potter was such an important part of my life. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of my generation. I was always around Harry’s age when each one came out, and they grew perfectly with me. I remember waiting in line for midnight releases, then staying up all night and then some, racing my friends to the finish

I remember that feeling so clearly with HP. I was a ravenous reader to begin with, HP kicked that into an absurd level.

I was similar in that my younger brother got into it first—he was the one who received the first book as a gift from someone in the know. Then in the summer of 1999 I discovered them, devouring the first three books in three consecutive days (our cousin in the U.K. had given us the 3rd book before it was out in the

This is a photo of a Hanukkah present that one of my old bosses gave me. He and I talked about HP all the time, and he said that he thought this looked like a Horcrux, and obviously even though I’m a Hufflepuff, I need one of those.

My husband has recently started reading the first book to our daughters (7 and almost 6) every night before bed. The oldest will always read more, alone, after he exits the room, because she just HAS to know what will happen.

I met JK Rowling at the New York book signing where she revealed Dumbledore was gay. My signed 7th book is one of my greatest possessions.

I adore these books and I’m so happy that I had a chance to grow up with them and not outgrow them.

Thank God. Now I don’t have to hate watch season 2. I’m not even going to bother listing the things about this show that made it suck, but I will say that Britt Robertson had better get out there and find a new character real quick before we can only remember her as that nasty pos.

Never watched so the thing I’ve learned most from this is that people on Jezebel really really hate The OA.

I’m very disappointed cuz I was dying to see how they handled the nasty gal bankruptcy. I think the show was mostly funny (the best friend character was supposed to be the actual likeable one btw) but the real life context made it very compelling for me personally.......Also I lived in San Francisco during that time

I just returned the Girlboss memoir to my library. I got halfway through and just could not finish it. It was such a sell-out, capitalistic, faux-feminist nightmare that I was actually getting angry reading the condescending “advice” doled out by someone who may or may not have been a terrible (girl)boss. Watched the

Sophia Amoruso was and is a dick.

I think it’s a little different for Netflix shows where people can watch all the episodes in one go.

I actually liked the show, but it absolutely did not need multiple seasons. It would have been just fine as a Netflix movie. I was actually hoping it would be canceled and when they canceled Sense8 I was like... can’t they just cancel Girlboss instead?

The forum scenes were hilarious. The actor who played Gail co-starred in Heavenly Creatures as a kid. She’s great.

She’s just gross. My husband offered to watch it with me but after he watched an episode he came back and decided it was antifeminist. So yeah.

but... I loved this show. The episode with the forum thread that was visually represented by people sitting around a table and yet talking like they were writing on the internet was amazing.
