I don't understand why the show is so realistic having abuela speak Spanish to Jane but yet Petra and her mum are Recent immigrants from the Czech Republic and speak only in english to each other..

I keep seeing comments about how Alexis Bledel isn't very good at acting so I try to notice examples but I am just not seeing it??? I guess I'm no acting ~expert but I think she's great. Does anyone have reasons?
