Saying people don't have empathy and compassion because they don't think like you is a very deceitful way to shut down people freely discussing or debating topics.

How is it distressing? The definition of the word is "causing anxiety, sorrow or pain". Its a billboard mate, if that's how you genuinely feel when viewing a billboard for a film then I think that's a pretty messed up way to live life.

I'd say most people don't have a problem with it because they don't live their lives by making everything about identity politics.
