Actually it isn’t the same in all parts of the world! Some places have two highs and two lows a day, some have one.

Of course, but most people then didn’t have the choice whether or not to have children. So they could worry about the kids future, but not debate whether or not to have kids at all.  Now we have birth control.

What part of this do you not think is true? It rings incredibly true for me. I’m debating whether it is ethical to have children in an overpopulated world, and my parents and their peers give me such blank looks when I bring this up. They didn’t see it that way at my age.
