Really, it blew my fucking mind when i read about this. It's a 1994 anime, amazing how they literally predicted the future so accurately. Granted, this one doesn't feed off the emotions of a singer (*that we know of!*).

Man, I had totally forgotten about Kolchak. It was a staple of my 90's teens, as in every saturday night they put on reruns of TZ, Kolchak, Night Gallery, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Friday the 13th, The Ray Bradbury Theater that I'd watch, since I didn't get invited to parties.
