I would imagine being a wicketkeeper would be more challenging than a catcher in baseball, especially when you’re out on the field for days at a time in the subcontinent.

He was also Gordon Crisp in Freaks and Geeks!!

I feel like a Miracleman series could work well with The Golden Age being the framing device and the Moore run being revealed throughout the series as flashbacks/reminiscences/some narrative method someone better at storytelling than me could suggest.

Ivory produced CMbYN as well! It’s extremely good.

One could definitely argue that Elisabeth Moss isn’t bothering in this season either. Whatever accent she is doing is much further away from a Kiwi one than season one.

It’s a very different show than the first season but, barring one majorly mishandled and unnecessary plot point, it’s still an extremely good one. No offense to Klieman (who does a great job) but I wish Campion had directed more than just the first and fifth episodes because they are the definite standouts

Yes, because everyone in America is white.

Yes, because ‘white’ is the default colour of an American.

They fire you pretty fast in Football Manager but god it would be satisfying to just sell all a team’s major assets for a pittance but I’d imagine the director of football/board would intervene pretty quickly.

Sadly there hasn’t been an enjoyable rugby game since Jonah Lomu’s Rugby in 1995 :/

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs Lincoln?

I saw this on the weekend and while I broadly agree with this take, as an aside I can say I enjoyed it much more than Denis’ Let the Sunshine In which I saw the week before. Maybe I’m just more inclined to identify with aimless, self-loathing, self-destructive millennials than I am with aimless, self-loathing,

Taking advantage of the ‘aggressive, needy young women’ that work for you and gaslighting your wife into thinking she’s crazy for suspecting you’re cheating because you’re just too feminist to do that are definitely inherently un-feminist acts, as well as being all kinds of horrible in other ways.

Did this work? Am I me?

I was actually wondering: if this had been a piece of original content made today called Celsius 233 what would they have changed the title to in America (a la Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)? Would they have gone with the direct translation or would they just have called it something generic like Bookburners?

I can't believe the show has made Sam even more boring and annoying than he was in the books. It took me so long to finish them because almost every time I got into a groove reading them I'd get to a chapter headed SAM and would put the book down in frustration.

I remember him really wailing on that trumpet.

This comment thread of alternate Billy Joel song titles on a Hater article about Gwyneth Paltrow referring to her friend's husband 'William' Joel always makes me happy too: http://disq.us/p/4i7yks

Oh thank you so much for these, such a nice trip down memory lane. Love all the comments ones (funny seeing upvotes of your own on articles that old!) but that Bloom/Bieber Newswire is one of my favourite things on the internet and I still laugh whenever I think of it.

I prefer the Japanese version, Kobaka Monogatari
