Oh wow, he is too… I guess of his generation of comedians then? Though it's not like any of his The Day Today etc… colleagues have broken out (barring arguably Ianucci himself) into international fame/success.

Yeah, he seems to be his generation's Rik Mayall and that really isn't so bad. Though I'd prefer to be Adrian Edmondson, if only to be married to Jennifer Saunders.

Can't wait to watch The Trip to Italy!

No, I want to clear this up once and for all. This has been hanging in the air for about thirty years, right, but I want to clear it up, ok? Steven McCoombes who called me Smelly Alan Fartridge, because he thought it was funny, Fartridge, Partridge, he said smelly. I wasn't. My personal hygiene was never in question.

I'VE GOT YOUR KIDS DAN

‘“Big Yellow Taxi” there, by Joni Mitchell. A song in which she complains that they “paved paradise to put up a parking lot” – a measure which actually would have alleviated traffic congestion on the outskirts of paradise. Something which Joni singularly fails to point out, perhaps because it doesn’t quite fit in with

It wasn't as well received at the time but it is at least as good as the first series. Getting him out of the travel tavern frees him up I think.

My friend and I put together my slat bed a couple of years ago (well, I had a broken leg so was reading the instructions while he did the actual work) over a 5 litre cask of red wine and some oxycontin. We made a fucking hash of it and I'm still suffering.

On a scale of 1 - 10, how much would you say these lemurs like to 'move it, move it'?

Who knows what adventures they'll have between now and the time the franchise
becomes unprofitable?

In his defense, Traci Lords has been 18 for about 25 years now…

I didn't know this show was back this weekend until a couple of hours ago and it's super exciting. With The Thick of It gone and Alpha Papa coming out last year, this is my only method of getting Ianucci in my life.

Seems like a good kid, like Daniel Radcliffe. I'm always happy when child stars end up ok.

I actually like the rest of S1 aside from the pilot and Diversity Day would definitely make my top 10 episodes if I ever sat down and made one but, yeah, my liking of it has only come since I grew to love what the show became.

Many of my friends (including myself initially) refused to watch the US version because we loved the original so much and, yeah, as you say the pilot at least was a leaden near word-for-word remake of the UK version.

I think this is the episode with the tag where Dwight pulls out the black light that brings out all the stains in Michael's hotel room and suggests that they might be 'blood, urine or semen' and Michael immediately says "Yech, I hope it's urine!"

I was proud of myself yesterday because I managed to get a fan of the UK Office who had never seen the NBC version to watch and enjoy The Dundies.

"David Schwimmer? I guess he is handsome, in an ugly sort of way…"

My vote for the pinnacle of comedy is a different monkey related one - the scene monkeys at the typewriters in Last Exit to Springfield.

22 Short Films About Springfield… it's in no way a typical episode but is a great intro to the show and the kinds of stories it can tell.
