Let’s be honest, if he doesn’t appoint the “RIGHT” Black jurist(Someone Progressive enough for the Black intelligentsia) the same people that are already looking for an excuse to sit on their hands this November will complain. Biden has already made the pledge and it’s obvious that he wants to honor it.

You should look into her anti-worker, tough-on-crime (tough-on-Black people) history. She’s not someone who should be celebrated. That mere fact that she has the full-throated support of none other than, Senator Lindsey Graham should give you pause. She is a full-fledged member of the Black Misleadership Class, along

That depends. It’s extremely important that Democrats stop taking Black people for granted and deliver. However, if they put in a Black corporatist who won’t check government or corporate power against people, it won’t mean much.

Yep, Biden made the commitment & promise to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court as a candidate heading into the South Carolina primary. He won! And that’s why it would be a huge betrayal of black folks in SC  if Judge Michelle Childs does not get the nomination.

I would like to personally submit my nomination of Anita Hill to SCOTUS. Let’s have some real, frank discussions about injustices from the past in the highest court of the land.

We can’t take the support of Black communities for granted. Democrats need to deliver.

Yeah, this wasn’t just another Marvel movie. This was a sea change in the representation of black people in film. It was a long, long overdue shift in the cultural landscape and Boseman became the symbol of it. To lose someone at such a young age is tragic enough but to lose someone who also embodied the hope and

I was in the middle of watching a Mission Impossible movie.  I saw the notice on my phone, tell my wife and her first reaction is “That has to be a prank.”  Just out of nowhere.  He did Black Panther, the last two Avengers movies, plus everything else he’s done in the past 4 years, and we didn’t have a clue.

When he yelled WAKANDA FOREVER! in Civil War I felt it right in the spine. I believed.

Just knowing what that movie meant, to so many people, it’s fucking heartbreaking. That character, Black Panther, was a breakthrough to so many people in my community who don’t often get to see themselves presented as majestic, dignified heroes on the big screen.

ah, props to keeping the day alive

The only indication (which I sadly suspected correctly as I’ve had family die from cancer) was quite a few months ago there was a twitter / instagram video of him where he looked very gaunt / thin and people were freaking out over it. In the back of my mind “oh dear... I hope he isn’t on chemo..” .. I pushed it aside

I felt the same way. Hell, I felt that way seeing him in Civil War. T’Challa seemed so…real. And he was so inspiring to so many people. I’m so sad right now.

This one really hurts, too. So young, so talented, and he always seemed like such a stand up guy. I fuckin’ hate this goddamn year so much.

I’ve never felt more moved coming out of a superhero movie than Black Panther on openng day. Boseman didn’t create T’Challa, but he made him totally believable as a character -- noble, compassionate, and brave -- and as a figure who could mean so much to so many people, not just lifelong comics fans. This  is

It’s hitting me hard because it comes out of nowhere, it would be one thing if we knew he had cancer but without knowing that it’s such a gut punch.

Shocked.

Same.  Out of fucking nowhere.
