I take the California Zephyr route for a small portion of it for weekend excursions and it has been sold out more than a few times now.

I’m a female developer as well. Once upon a time, in an interview in Tempe, AZ, I was asked to address the “elephant in the room”. What elephant you say? Well, the little obvious fact of my gender not being male. D’oh!

Thanks for the response. :) I'm into cosplay, but I'm also into being taken seriously and not thought of as a quick-change Barbie doll.

As a female I found myself embarrassed that in order to make a FF with a main female character they felt the need to dumb it down with "dress spheres". I wanted a strong, admirable, and badass female that I could identify with.... not some frilly superfluous girly garbage.

I think it depends on whether its the initial "hey we're interested" call or the post-interview "we really like you" call. The first can go to my VM, the second I'll answer for every time. :)

Sautéed spam.

I just tried cleaning my cabinet doors today with murphy's oil soap (which is normally amazing on, well, *everything*) and had no success. :(

This might sound a bit counter-intuitive, but working at home with an infant suddenly presses me to get more and more done in the 2 hour stints I have between breastfeeding, since then I'm down and can't do much of anything for ~an hour. In the office, I never had that kind of time crunch and so never valued my

Indiana has a county called Ohio and one called Switzerland? ...not sure if that makes Indiana super-crazy or kinda-awesome.

Yeah, weird. Whenever I have a conflict with someone my local working branch, it always asks me to merge them. I haven't lost anything because I've pulled (that I'm aware of) pretty much ever. Maybe I just configured my git pull once upon a time to behave more like git fetch/git merge? o.O I may need to look over

Another thought: "It would've been easier for them if they could've labored in that bathtub there..."

Regardless, 7 hours of labor is still considered short. 2 hours even more so. :)

Weird, I've never fetched, only ever pushed/pulled and things have been great for me... for like years. Never heard of that, I'll have to look it up to see what I'm missing. :)

Because when we go for the jobs that make us happy intrinsically, we statistically get lower wages than men who have the same skill sets as us. :\

I wish I knew the juggling woman.

The Stencyl code "snapping" bit looks a lot like Google's (now discontinued) AppInventor... worked/looked the exact same... almost even down to the coloring. Did they open source that project? Would be interested to know if it's based off of it, because for basic "hey, why don't you learn to code visually?" use...

Either that, or their mother-tongue is German, or some other language that requires capitalizing all nouns, proper or not.

Not compatible with Nexus 7? *sad face*

It's actually nicer than you think! :) As a developer, 5 minutes is enough to metaphorically (and physically!) shake my hands out, take a breather, maybe grab a snack, and unwind without totally falling out of my "programmer's groove". Sometimes it's all you need: a quick gas-up. ;) Try it before you knock it?
