My solution to that situation, especially when confronted by douchey know-it-alls who feel the need to correct me, is to insist that the “correct” pronunciation is how it is said in whatever language it originated from, and the “incorrect” pronunciation (that I probably used) is how it’s pronounced in American English.

I try to say all foreign phrases properly, usually even when that sounds silly... except for one.

Just a few clarifications on the meanings for you guys. (not sure if this is better explained in the video as I can’t look at it right now):

Ntm, “IKEA” itself is pronounced quite differently in different countries. For example, eye-key-ah here in the States, but ee-kay-ah in Germany. :)
