i liked bossypants, and there are other good memoirs out there. the kaling book was drivel.

agreed that bossypants was better. tina fey wipes funnier stuff off of her shoes than kaling's book.
the intro made me gag and scoff. sometimes internal dialog should stay internal.
nah man. bossypants was awesome. even though it was "about" tina fey she didn't dwell on her feelings and had enough interesting stuff in there about life in comedy that i breezed through it.
intersting question at the end of the article. I'd definitely say that being "Alpha" is rooted in insecurity. you always have something to prove.
anytime i see people arguing against biology arguments it always seems like the argument is ignorant that people are different and that there are people who have legitimate "dysfunctions" of their mental and physical selves.
this argument seems more like diminishing white and skinny people as opposed to celebrating Kaling's uniqueness. The fact that comdey is "too white" or "too male" just seems like an oportunity beckoning for new voices and talents. There should be more diversity in comedy, not to promote diversity as a goal in itself…
I love her show, but her book was really boring. She talks incessantly about her insecurity and it's overly self-indulgent.
huh?
you're probably dating the wrong men. a real man knows he's badass even if his woman makes more money than him. The fact that she could do better but chooses to stay with you should support that fact.
why would a successful woman date a dude who is upset by her success? That seems like the ultimate sour grapes. If she's successful and awesome she should have no problem finding a dude who is supportive and awesome in his own way.
i agree, i loved sonique. The skins and visualizations were awesome.
it really is slow, and inexplicably so.
read it. responded to it. Maybe you should reread what you wrote and then reread what i wrote.
GRAMMAR WAAAAARRRRRR!!!
that's a fair consideration to make.
Not true. While it is illegal to deny admission to an organization (like a school) based explicitly on race, gender, etc it is not against the law for groups to express biogted beliefs even if admitting certain people contradicts their bigoted beliefs.
if we start censuring people we disagree with, where will that leave us? There's a reason the constitution puts freedom of assembly right there with freedom of speech and press. Sure we could silence the KKK or neo-nazi party, but then on what grounds can we defend pro-life or pro-gay or pro-[insert your cause here]…
some people like sororities, what with all the slumber parties, pillow fights, mixers, or whatever it is sororities do. Maybe she's uncomfortable sharing that kind of closeness with non-straight chicks. It shouldn't matter that she's attending a school with an outsized gay population (20-30% by some estimates). If she…
