confidence, bro. it's the love drug.
I have to think that there's some backward-looking story revamping when these women tell their tales of woe. If the guy really is such a big douche, why not excuse yourself from the date before you end up going *back to his place*?
love how steak is the last and tiniest line after "atmosphere" and "temptation"
they have those. they're called spas.
So women who are given free stuff are being exploited? By that logic, holding doors open for women is exploiting them too.
not blaming the victim, you're putting words in my keyboard.
assaulting someone is wrong. universally. that's not my argument.
you *should* be ashamed of yourself because you show no sympathy and seem to be in favor of amplifying the indignity of rape victims. it has nothing to do with whether or not you're a woman or because you disagree with me.
stop quoting from your gloria steinham cliff notes and think for your self. rape is not a tool against women. it's a tool.
indeed. It's also their fault you didn't hang up the phone when the call became inappropriate (sarcasm intended).
you can hold men to that contempt, but that doesn't change biology. this is why it's hypocritical to show your body in a titillating way to get attention, then turn around and say the people viewing them should act as if they aren't interested. If women don't want attention, they shouldn't dress in a way that…
the gawker article about this drink was funnier and more informative. thanks though.
"Rape is obviously a gendered offense. "
i totally agree that there seem to be way more support groups for women than there are for men. men don't report all the abuse/humiliation/bullying that goes on in the company of other men. if the same stuff happens between a man and a woman, women have been taught that it's OK to come forward and talk to someone…
Rape and violence can happen to anyone. Offering help and support to the unfortunate victims should be a priority no matter what their sex. Men need to know that it's OK to confront the perpetrators of these crimes and a film on the subject could help bring the issue to the forefront of our nation's conscious.
word. if i want to watch a film about women rape victims i can take my pick. male rape victims apparently don't garner the same sympathy. Men are assumed to be able to fend for themselves. if they can't, well they were probably to weak to sympathize with.
+1
using women as sympathetic characters in a film about rape and male oppression? *yawn* it's been done. A more compelling film would use *both* male and female victims to attract attention to the issue of rape, illustrating that rape is not a "woman's issue" but a humanity issue.
