I can’t be the only person thinking that it’s weird that the first game after getting bought by Microsoft for this studio known for story-driven RPGs isn’t a story-driven RPG, right?

Is it going to be like Ubisoft and Uplay where you’re just using Steam on top of Origin?
Came to say the same thing. As much as I’m stoked for a new and improved CK, I can’t help but fear it’ll be very barebones (compared to what we currently have) and it’ll take at least 3 years to reach the depth of CKII.
I think that is a rather one-sided way to view it. Developers can absolutely change their game however they want, but that doesn’t mean players have to like it or keep playing just because they liked the game before the change. The belief that if you are a fan of something means you have to love it unconditionally is…
... whatever.
He is right though. China and India are still building coal plants and buying cars. The US could cut emissions to zero with our “moonshot” and China will just laugh and thank us for tanking our economy. Admit defeat and develop mitigation strategy. Or in the case of Northern countries, enjoy the longer growing season…
At this point I think ‘too late’ is realism not pessimism. Yes, it may not be too late in some theories - theories that revolve around massive political, economic, and social changes. The reality of making any of those, let alone all that are needed, happen is pretty fucking dismal though.
Wow, this is quite a hit job. You are misrepresenting his views about as much as possible (and you backpedal and use weak language throughout because you know it). Being honest about what is going to happen is not dangerous. Carbon Capture combined with lower emissions is 100% the correct solution, and investigating…
“We are 10 years too late” is the absolute shittiest climate messaging I could imagine a presidential candidate using.
“We’re down 4,000 wishlists on 2,000 sales, so about 2,000 more we should be,” Sir, You Are Being Hunted, The Signal From Tolva, and The Light Keeps Us Safe developer Jim Rossignol (who, full disclosure, I used to work with at Rock Paper Shotgun) told Kotaku in an email. “Sales were also lower than we’d expect, so I…
The vernacular is established, and will remain until people no longer find it useful. You’re fighting this fight about 15 years too late.
What’s interesting to me, is that when I lived in Canada for 10 years (Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver) this same “rule” of standing on the right side of the escalator was largely followed as well. I lived there from 2005 - 2015 for school, and it was a general rule that I learned the hard way when someone yelled at me…
Recruitable survivors are no longer procedurally generated, every zombie has the blood plague, and you’ve only got one large base to work with that’s unlocked within moments of starting.
Holy crap.
Is this sarcasm?
I deeply wish that they would cut it out with these goofy ass digimony mechanics....”Z-crystals! Dynamaxing! Mega Evolutions!” It just gets so far away from what was charming about the franchise in the first place, namely, a sense of magical naturalism. Of going exploring when you were a kid, catching bugs and lizards.
This oddly makes me want a new Armored Core.
This isn’t competition. This is them locking there content behind there own personal wall. Competition would apply if multiple stores were selling the same product.
Yeah, but then you would be one of those weirdo’s that talks to all their friends about emulators.
People were hyped because they were hoping for a sequel that improved on the original while adding co-op. It was not until the game was released that people realized just how much a downgrade the game was in order to make co-op work reliably.
