Well the first one is completely different from the 2nd and third episode so there's that, but at the same time the second and third were pretty bad… First episode is like episode 12 chronologically, the second one start from the beginning, which mean the first things we get is a long fan service sequence.

You're giving it way more credit than it deserve, its not "poking fun at the trope" it is using the trope and justifying having them by saying how dumb it is, but there's still there. Like the shower scene, it could have, you know, not shown you the naked kid character and still poked fun at it, but it choose to shown…

Meh after watching 3 episode, it felt like the show was a parody of itself, except it didn't know it. All the character were super shallow, none of them appear to even have a bit of common sense.

Yeah the trope is more that it's eventually revealed that there's a reason why the main character can pilot the robot (usually utter non sense, relying on coincidence), which is exactly what this show does apparently.

And just you wait, in 6 month they'll reveal the new and improved version that they made where everything is a bit more bland, because some focus group wanted that for some reason. And it'll be called "lazer" or something generic like that.

I think the real problem with LoL community is the perception people have of LoL community. People play the game thinking everyone else is an asshole, and hey if there asshole it's okay to treat them like asshole, so you have 5 people in a chat who all think the 4 other people are asshole and so all treat each others…

I had two problem with the show (slight spoiler):

Last hope wasn't a let down, it was a game so bad it destroyed the franchise. It was like they decided to make a game by combining every bad/annoying anime cliche and character.

Meh, to me if its was trying to be "gundam in a realistic world" they would just kick out the kid from the mech and have a real military pilot in it (especially if he's not genetically engineered). So if it's really trying to deconstruct the genre that's a major fail right there.

This is pretty ridiculous, played plenty of game with global chat, both mmo and single player game, never seen any real problem. Sure people throw an insult here and there but it's absolutely nothing worth closing the chat down. So either divinity has a bunch of ass for audience (or somehow turn normal people in ass)…
