More speech is not the same as a broader notion of corporate personhood.
Does it though? Citizens United is essentially the follow-on to First National Bank of Boston v. Bellotti and Buckley v. Valeo, it doesn't exactly break new ground. Citizens United wasn't decided with any reference to corporate personhood at all - it is decided on a theory of free speech that focuses on the…
This really bothers me every time I see it - Citizens United did not establish corporate personhood or declare that corporations are people. It gives political speech (free speech) protection to corporations, labor unions and not-for-profits who spend their own funds on independent communications. It doesn't affect…
There is, unfortunately, no way to retrieve a burner passcode on Kinja's end. I had it saved to "sticky note" on my laptop that got accidentally deleted and doesn't seem to be in any of my backups. So this is just a case of my own stupidity. Perhaps there is a way to consolidate this account into my new one…
Oh no! It isn't there. I guess I just logged in once and then never logged back out? Problems.
I'm also Belle. Which I like, except for the case of Stockholm Syndrome coupled with an inability to tell people where you're going and when you'll be back thus preventing a great deal of trouble. But generally, I am okay with things!
I was a very early walker, but also happened to have teeny tiny feet. My mom looked all over to find shoes small enough for me that would stand up to the wear and tear of being walked on and couldn't, so I walked around barefoot for a couple months and was carried or put in a stroller for non-walking safe places. …
Oh boy. That's a long time to remember something. I should write myself a sticky note or something.
I can go next week. If there is still space in your life.
Agreed on pretty much all counts. Plus, given the existence of censure proceedings against the President, I'm pretty sure all three instance of presidential impeachment would have better off as censure proceedings in the individual chambers. I mean, the House censured Polk for the Mexican-American War, for goodness…
I agree with your first paragraph. (And let's be honest, if anyone deserved an abuse of power impeachment proceeding it was Cheney.)
Let's get real about impeachment at the federal level. What follows is a long, descriptive look at impeachment historically.
To be technical, they voted to impeach for obstruction of justice and perjury, which are pretty serious crimes at that level of government (even if the underlying investigation can be reduced to an inappropriate blowjob).

I had cramps the rest of the day after I got mine put in in the morning. I took the whole day off, but after that everything was peachy keen. Take an advil before you go.
(: Keep on keeping on - you'll be great!
Unless you are the person who gets the middle piece, I guess. haha.
I will be in northern Wisconsin in August. Frosting probably doesn't last that long.
I definitely considered this, but on the bottom where you can't see and wouldn't have to fill.
Ahh!! (That is so obviously the next logical step, I'm not sure where my brain is).
