That might be the plan. The first generation Escape had a more “truck-like” style to it than the rest of the small SUVs of the time, and I think that actually broadened its appeal. The Bronco Sport will do the same, and also have a helluva name to leverage.
So I’m NOT the only one that thinks this thing looks like an Escape from 2005 or so. That’s reassuring.
I have a 2001 escape, and it's actually one of my favorite vehicles I've owned. This is a modern bulked up version to me too, I like it (and thought I'd hate it).
