I read Franken’s book, Giant of the Senate, recently, and it was very enlightening. Especially about how he has to be careful with off the cuff remarks due to Republicans who get the joke just fine but will pretend they don’t get it in a specific way to make it the most awful thing to say ever.

It continues to boggles my mind that the lesson (white) Democrats learned from Trump’s election seems to be “we need to appeal more to the same racist people who voted for an open and obvious racist, and stop focusing on the identity politics that Trump used to ride a wave of white resentment to the Oval Office.”

The white dems who run our county board just voted to approve a jail expansion for our Trump and Sessions visiting Sheriff - in contravention of the state platform, their party leadership, and community engagement.

Democrats need stop being scared in general. Stop saying you’re ‘going to save or fix Obamacare,’ and demand single payer healthcare for everyone. Stop saying ‘it’s up to the states,’ and make marijuana legal nationwide. Stop saying ‘there are a few bad apples,’ and start saying the entire justice system needs an…
