The movie referred to in Thank You for Smoking was the big-budget, never made, version of the Fountain, but yeah, this sounds like a contendor

Nope—I have three devices registered and you CANNOT send the subscription to your PC or Mac for some reason, and even when I had an iPad, until the recent 2.8 Kindle upgrade, I couldn't subscribe either. It's absolute bonkers, I know.

Also, more generally, as of the new update you can now get magazine subscriptions like Asimov's & Analog for mobile devices that have Kindle software as well (but still not your Mac or PC).

Was it just me, or were there like 10x more popular culture references in this one? (Or maybe I just noticed because I wasn't getting them) I suppose we could theorize that due to solely consisting of memories, Harry had to rely on things like movies I've never seen to communicate.

I've heard mixed from doctors; though I get the general impression is that they don't want you swamped with hormones 24/7. For me, things get wonky if I stack more than 3.

KOTR is the only video game I've ever played for longer than 15 minutes. It was great. I loved Star Wars as a kid but rapidly fell out of love when I was 9 and episode 1 came out. I had been looking forward to it so much & read all the issues of the Star Wars magazine in preparation...and then...

She went vegetarian during her pregnancy. /why do I know this

I've spent a fair amount of time in the Pompeii brothels. It is always fun to go with someone who reads Latin so they can point out everything of interest.

I had a professor, albeit a Chinese history professor because it was a comparative empires class, say that that book is one of the best depictions of certain aspects of Roman engineering in print. And its a good book anyways!

I tried to talk to Lila (Live Action's founder) about it but she never responds to anything on Facebook anymore.

I'm 22 like Crrash and have learned 2 languages since middle school to the point where I can read science fiction in them (which yes, is a great barometer), but the ones I've started more recently have gone terribly wrong. I've learned & am learning a few computer languages which actually has helped me see my holes in

"Do you have so few serial rapist, mass murderer and cannibals to fill your expensive prisons in the 22nd century or what?"

Interesting this is pretty much the converse of one of my favorite articles I read last semester that was on bobcat DNA and genetic variation/intermingling between groups and how it was affected by freeways, and even though they lived really close, they were pretty genetically distinct. If I had the resources I would

Community college actually! One of the local ones has a pretty well-established Native American studies department and I pretty much want to take all the department's classes, but alas.

One of the local community college offers it and Luiseño online, which is really pretty snazzy. Thanks!

I wanted to be Vesper Holly so badly at 12, and I think it's all in that description. Love!

I read them all over a couple months, and didn't really fall for them until A Storm of Swords which I got to the week before ADWD was released. I thought, despite what I'd heard, that I'd manage to get through AFFC with my momentum. Yeah, never finished it.

Interesting review, but I think ultimately, I want to read my Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-like books and my Alastair Reynolds/other ambitious science fiction, and never the twain shall meet. Funny, I don't seem to have this problem in fantasy and may in fact read paranormal romance...

I hear Spanish a lot and feel somewhat guilty about listening in on people's conversations when they think I don't know what they are saying. Sometimes at work it has been super convenient, like for telling 12 year old boys to stop saying certain things, but then sometimes when I'm out and about, people start speaking

One of the radio stations was advertising a contest for tomorrow morning to win passes. Sorry, I'm still not listening to your crappy morning show!
