I am a lawyer and am constantly embarassed by my own profession's inability to spell or write anything.

Bingo.

Everybody deserves to be defended. Even assholes.

THANK YOU for commenting on their grammar mistake. Jesus Christ, I find that annoying, especially from a bunch of people who supposedly passed the bar.

Well, it wasn't your business. But then it became your business, and my business, and everyone else's business, when she decided to participate in an article about how she was the creepy doctor's victim.

I choose to believe you're engaging in rational discourse because it's what's in your heart, Krantzstone. Your HEART.

Can I just say that I appreciate the nuanced conversation we're having about this? I don't agree with you 100%, you're not on board with my position, and yet we are not screaming and calling each other names and flinging poo. It's almost like we're reasonable well-meaning adults or something.

Oh, I agree that it wasn't all her fault. I think he targeted her. I think he's a sick fuck. I think he's a weasel.

I would also say, this guy is her gyno. He's not her surgeon, or her oncologist, or someone with a specialty that you can't just find anywhere. He's also not doing this in an inpatient setting where she's trapped in a hospital bed and can't go anywhere. He's a doctor, sure, but how often do you really see your gyno?

Sometimes feminism starts looking like paternalism coming from the other direction.

I really haven't seen any evidence here that she wasn't responsible for her actions. Depression doesn't equal a lack of mental responsibility automatically. I mean, PPD certainly CAN do that, but that doesn't seem to be what happened in this case. In this case it looks like an unethical, creepy doctor deliberately hit

???

I'm glad so many of you agree with me here. I think that gay/bi/not totally hetero dudes really get shorted in terms of being considered sexy or sex symbols. Alan Cumming is a sexy sexy beast. And he just freaking OWNS some of the skirts he wears.

Yes. Thank you. For Christ's sake, women are adults too, with agency.

I agree.

The mustache is the problem with his face here.

I KNOW. My husband and I were watching an episode of Portlandia, and he casually was like, "You know that's the girl from Sleater-Kinney, right?" And I was like "WHAT? WHAT?! WHAAAATTTT??!!!!" And then my head exploded.

OK. Raise your hand if you would totally do Alan Cumming.

Seriously girl, a tailor can make you look fine as hell.

??? I honestly don't know what you're talking about. Was it your impression that I was saying that what this judge did was justifiable? Because I clearly was not.
